Thanksgiving Food Fest

Just a few pictures from Thanksgiving day. Didn't do much but cook brussels Nate Whiting style and follow my mothers directions...I loved cooking with mom and dad it is some of my fondest memories.
One learning experience was seeing the brussels like this! I have never see that before and thought it was really cool getting to cook with them starting like this.

  1. Yeah, aren't brussels sprouts wild the first time you see them on the stem? I saw them at Whole Foods one time and was floored. I thought they'd be like little cabbages. I guess I never thought about it...

Glad you had fun on your TG. We are in Winston Salem right now, D is in surgery. We went out to one of the 'best' restaurants in town last night. Peculiar food. I had a salad where the dressing tasted like marshmallow fluff and mayo. D had a split pea 'soup' that was thicker than homestyle mashed potatoes. Charleston has nothing to worry about.

  2. By the way, that turkey looks pretty incredible. What was the method?
